FIRE AT FLIGHT PARK LANDING ZONE An early morning fire destroyed two buildings and damaged a third at the Lookout Mountain Flight Park’s landing zone. North Dade, Trenton and New Home fire departments were dispatched to the landing area on Creek Road in Wildwood a little before 2:25 a.m. Monday morning. An office building and one apartment were fully engulfed when emergency personnel arrived on scene. The outer wall of a third apartment was just starting to catch fire and was able to be saved preventing remaining apartments from catching fire as well. Fire departments cleared the scene around 5 a.m. The fire is under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s Office and the Dade County Sheriff’s Department.

UPDATE - On Tuesday afternoon, Dade Detectives arrested 36 year old Jeffrey L. Fults on charges of Terroristic Threats, Arson, and three counts of Aggravated Assault. Fults’ charges stem out of the investigation into the fire that occurred at The Landing in Dade County early Monday morning. Fults is still in the Dade County Jail. No bond has been set at this time.
