Voters are apparently happy with the city’s current administration and the vote tally Tuesday evening showed that. At 139 to 38, Trenton Police Commissioner Sandra Gray will remain in office another four years after defeating her challenger, Tim Riddle.

Gray has served the city of Trenton as a commissioner for 12 years and is a mandated law enforcement officer in the state of Georgia and has been in law enforcement since 1976. Gray is employed by Lifeguard Ambulance as a paramedic.

The city had a low voter turnout for early voting with only 67, out of 1,231 registered voters choosing to vote early. Election Day voting was still low with only 110 reporting.  The 177 votes represented only 14.3%.

Other names on the ballot included Lucretia Houts for City Clerk and Chuck Cannon for Parks and Recreation Commissioner, both of whom went unchallenged for their positions with the city.

The city commission will remain: Mayor Barton Harris, Fire/Sewer Commissioner Tommy Lawson, Police Commissioner Sandra Gray, Streets Commissioner Greg Houts, Parks and Recreation Commissioner Chuck Cannon, and City Clerk Lucretia Houts.
