Jurors were chosen and a few cases went to trial last week in Superior Court but this week all is quiet as the District Attorney’s office cancelled the second week of court due to a lack of cases to try in Dade County for this session.
Last week, Jeffrey Fults was found not guilty of false imprisonment and a mistrial was declared with regards to counts of kidnapping and simple battery, because the jury was unable to reach a decision.
Fults made news in Dade County the end of June this year when he was arrested in connection with a fire that destroyed two buildings and damaged a third at the Lookout Mountain Flight Park landing zone. Fults was charged with arson in the first degree and arson in the second degree and this case has not yet gone to trial.
Phillip Craig, Jr., was found guilty last week on one count of computer pornography and two counts of attempt to commit child molestation.
Craig was arrested on March 30 of this year and will be sentenced at a later time.
