The Dade County High School wrestling team opened their season last week when they traveled to LaFayette and Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe.

At LaFayette the Wolverines faced the defending AAA state champions and came away on the short end of a respectable 40-25 score.

Winners for the Wolverines were Joey Tamburello, 119; Blake West, 125; Caleb Massey, 140; Rhett Lusk, 152; and Josh Cash, 215.

The Wolverines fared much better at Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe Duels participating against LFO, Ringgold, Heritage and SE Whitfield.

The Wolverines came away with the championship posting wins against all five teams.

The scores were Dade 57, LFO 24; Dade 53, Ringgold 30; Dade 43, Murray 33; Dade 65, Heritage 15; and Dade 37, SE Whitfield 34.
