JESSIE MORELAND

Jessie Mae Moreland, 82, of Trenton, passed away Dec. 20. She was a lifelong member of the Trenton Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jefferson Anderson and Ida Lavinia Smith Moreland; sister, Evelyn McNabb; brothers, William C. Moreland and Carl Henry Moreland.

Survivors include her brother, Donald E. Moreland, Trenton; several nieces and nephews.

MELVIN OWENS

Melvin Joe Owens, 77, of Fort Payne, Ala., passed away Dec. 18.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Shankles Owens of Fort Payne, Ala.; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles and Cheryl Owens of Fort Payne, Ala., James and Jamie Owens of Chicago, Ill.; daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Quinton Poe of Fort Payne, Ala., Deborah and Wayne Dalton of Sylvania, Ala.; sisters, Mary Sue Cain of Athens, Tenn., Evon Etheridge of Henagar, Ala.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 21 in the Kerby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Watson Williams and Rev. Ray Jordan officiating.

Interment was in Lacey’s Chapel Cemetery in Henagar, Ala.

LULA TALLEY

Lula M. Talley, 95, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Dec. 21, at Dade Health and Rehab. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County, Ala., until recently. She was of the Baptist Faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Talley; sons, Hershel, Hubert and Charles; daughter, Mary Grace Frazier; grandsons, Marshall Frazier, Billy Talley and Gary Goff and granddaughter, Lisa Talley.

Survivors include her daughters, Daisy McBryar, Bryant, Ala., Sally Bramlett, Chatsworth, Mildred (Sam) McDonald, Flat Rock, Ala., and Marsha Lynn (Murphy) Rogers, Bryant, Ala.; sons, Jimmy Ray (Judy), Tennessee, Larry Talley, Bryant, Ala., and Calvin Talley, Bryant, Ala; 25 grandchildren, 29 great–grandchildren and 11 great–great–grandchildren.

A special thanks to Dade Health and Rehab employees for the great care and also Hospice of Chattanooga.

Funeral services were Dec. 24 in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Tony Smith and Reverend Roy Veneble officiating. Burial was in Old Baptist Cemetery, Hollywood, Ala.

GLINNIE WHITE

Glinnie June White, 86, of Pisgah, Ala., passed away Dec. 18.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Dimple Gunter of Henagar, Ala., Maggie Wood of Powell, Ala., Linda G. Sizemore of Pisgah, Ala., Vickey and Billy Colburn of Lankston, Ala., Lottie and Randy Sampson of Scottsboro, Ala.; sister, Betty Rose Hiett of Ider, Ala.; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 21 in the Kerby Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment was in New Hope Cemetery at Rosalie, Ala.
