First Chamber Luncheon Fri.
The Dade County
Chamber of Commerce will host its first luncheon of the year Friday at noon at
Guthrie’s Restaurant.
The speaker is
J.E. Marston presenting THRIVE 2055, and will be accompanied by Brian Anderson,
the Chair of Thrive 2055.
Thrive 2055 is
a public-private regional growth initiative to engage people from across this
16-county, tri-state region of Southeast Tennessee, Northwest Georgia and
Northeast Alabama in setting a course of action for the long-term prosperity of
the region.
The public is
welcome to attend.
Astronomy Demo Friday
Wildwood’s Ned
Smith will take another stab at showing Dade the stars this Friday night in
Veterans Park on the Trenton town square. Bad weather clouded out his last
month’s attempt, and this week he is switching from the previously announced
Thursday to Friday because of the forecast.
In any case,
beginning at 6:30 p.m. on Friday – weather permitting – Smith will give anyone
interested a free glimpse of the heavens through his powerful telescope.
Specific items
of interest this month will be the moon, Jupiter and its moons, the Orion
Nebula and Andromeda Galaxy.
For more
information, he may be emailed at smithn00@kitepilot.net.
