JUNE CAGLE

June Dobbins Cagle, 80, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Jan. 27. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, owned Cagle's Feed and Farm, and enjoyed crocheting and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville Dodd; daughter, Joan Dodd; son, Kenneth Nelson Dodd; sister-in-law, Becky Dobbins and parents, Gordon and Ruby Dobbins.

Survivors include her husband, George Cagle; sisters, Ruth (James) Wade, Leavern (Billy) Stephenson, Joyce (Bobby) Atchley, Glenda Ginn, and Delray (James) Wright; brothers, Leo (Judy) Dobbins, Roy (Diona) Dobbins and Troy Dobbins.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. EST Jan. 31 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Glenn Tilley, Rev. Jim Hixon and Bro. Steve Wade officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Wednesday from noon until 9 p.m., and Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. EST.

PATRICIA CARTER

Patricia Joyce (Nana) Carter, 63, passed away Jan. 21. She was employed at Rock City Gardens for 30 years and was a member of Trinity Holiness Church.

Survivors include her husband, Larry Carter; daughter and son-in-law, Tish and Brad Stephens; parents, Harold and Joyce Harmon; sisters, Kathy Franks, Cheryl Dickerson; brothers, Freeman, Donald, Barry and Mark Harmon; grandchildren, Lebron and Whitney Stephens, Letrece and B.J. Hodge; great-grandchildren, Taylin Hodge and Isaiah Hodge.

Funeral services were held Jan. 24 in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. J.L. Black officiating.

Interment was held in Mount Olive Cemetery.

VINNA CLARDY

Vinna Lee Clardy, 88, of Henagar, Ala., passed away Jan. 23. at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac F. Clardy and Dora Kate (Strawn) Naler; and husband, Cleo Clardy; brothers, Arnold Naler, Millard Naler; sisters, Lucille Long and Patsy Duncan; daughter-in-law, Edna Allen.

Survivors include her son-in-law, Ricky Allen; grandson, Jason Allen (Crissy); grandchildren, Danin Allen, Grady Allen, all of Henagar, Ala.; brother, J.R. Naler of Rome; sister, Flossie Blevins of Henagar, Ala.

Funeral services were held Jan. 25 in the Kerby Funeral Home Chapel.

Interment was in Henagar Community Cemetery.

SYLVIA CUNNINGHAM

Sylvia Lois Cunningham, 63, of Lookout Valley, passed away Jan. 24. She retired from nursing after 20 years and was a member of Lookout Valley Church of the Nazarene.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Cunningham; parents, Chester and Nadine Forsythe.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Bill Blake; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Tracie Cunningham, Daniel and Regina Cunningham; brother, Chuck Forsythe; grandsons, Tyler and Eric Cunningham.

Funeral services were held Jan. 26 in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joshua Fite officiating.

Interment was in Lakewood West Cemetery.

GLADYS HARRIS

Gladys Myrl Hulgan Harris, 88, of Ft. Oglethorpe, passed away Jan. 24 in a local hospital. She was a native and longtime resident of Valley Head and had lived in Ft. Oglethorpe since 1982. She retired from American Lava following 30 years of service and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Mitchell Hulgan and Thomas Andrew Harris; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Trecia and Roy Thompson of Ft. Oglethorpe, Kay Mayes of Rossville; brother, Cecil Otto of Valley Head, Ala.; grandchildren, Payton and Jeff Mayes; great-granddaughters, Jadyn and Zoe Mayes; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Jan. 27 in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Jenkins officiating.

Interment was in Head Springs Cemetery, Valley Head, Ala.

BILL MARSHALL

William P. (Bill) Marshall, 82, of Trenton, born July 22, 1930, to the late John and Philiona Marshall, passed away Jan. 26, at his residence.

Upon retirement in 1986, he moved to Dade County and became involved in the community and surrounding areas. He was an active member in 21 different clubs and organizations. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of Slygo United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret Marshall; sons, Rodney Kyle Marshall and Donald Adair Marshall; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Funeral and burial will be private for family only.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the W. P. (Bill) Marshall Scholarship Fund P.O. Box 738 Trenton, GA 30752.

JOE TATUM, JR.

Joe Lee Tatum, Jr., 70, of Wildwood, passed away Jan. 28. He served in the Marine Corps.  Over the years he taught a Sabbath School class, was Sabbath School Superintendent, assisted with Vacation Bible School, health fairs and sermons. Music was an important part of his life and he and his wife sang at various nursing homes and churches for many years. He was multitalented and worked as a molder in a foundry, water and wastewater treatment plant operator, maintenance, materials management, purchasing agent, painter and cook.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Stella Tatum; sister, Barbara Tatum; grandparents, Henry and Melissa Dunlap and Tom and Ruth Tatum.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Linda Cole Tatum; and mother-in-law, Evelyn Cole.

Funeral services will be held today at 3:00 p.m. in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. today.
