BERNICE BYNUM
Annie Bernice Reece Bynum, 73, of Bryant, Ala., passed away Feb. 21, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed working in her flower gardens, canning and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Bynum was a member of Floral Crest Seventh Day Adventist Church and was retired from Bank of Dade after 21 years of employment.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady Wyatt and Ruby Ree Moore Reece; brothers, Arlon Wyatt and Bill Carlton Reece.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Charles Wilson Bynum; son and daughter-in-law, Robin and Tammy Bynum of Bryant; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Bynum and Phil Strok of Newport Coast, Calif.; sister, Willow Dean Shavers; grandchildren, Brett Bynum, Brandon Bynum, Briley Bynum and Matthew Strok; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were Feb. 24 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Carlis Clinton officiating. Interment was in Oak Lawn Memorial Park.

JEWELL CLOUD
Jewell Mason Cloud, passed away Feb. 22 at the age of 79.
She was preceded in death by her true love Junior Cloud and her eldest son, Wallace Smith.
Survivors include children, Charles Mensing, Arthur Mensing, Teresa Fry and Michael Mensing, Sr., 12 grandchildren, 24 great–grandchildren and six great–great–grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. March 3 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Browns Gap Cemetery.

Larry Delmas Edwards, 63, of Trenton, passed away Feb. 23. He was born on June 16, 1949 in Cedartown, Georgia.
He is preceded in death by his parents, L.C. Edwards and Georgia Ruth Smith Edwards.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Natasha Edwards; daughter and son-in-law, Sabrina & Gene Cronan; four grandchildren, Todd Edwards, Jacob Edwards, Ashley Edwards, Joshua Edwards; special friend, Mildred Black.

Betty Jean Gant, 75, of Rising Fawn, passed away Feb. 24. She was retired from Shaw Industries after 30 years of employment and was of the Church of God faith. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Gant; daughter, Tracy Gass; parents, Pete and Hattie Mae Williams and brother, Johnny Williams.

Lester Vernon Pettyjohn, 79, of Wildwood, died at his residence Feb. 23. He was a member of the Seventh Day Baptist Church. Mr. Pettyjohn was a veteran of the Korean conflict.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Roberta Lavonne Pettyjohn and parents, Charles Leonard and Ida Frances Pettyjohn.

Ruby Clouse Shiflett, 90, of Fackler, Ala., passed away Feb. 20 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Shiflett; parents, Marion and Ibbie Whitecotton; grandson, Todd Shiflett; brother, James Whitecotton; sisters, Lois Clark, Flonnie Everett, Edith Stanley and Amanda Young.

ROBERT STILES, SR.
Robert David “Bob” Stiles, Sr. CPCU, CLU, ARM, 70, of Chickamauga, passed away Feb. 19 in a local hospital after a five month battle with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in Chattanooga where he served in many capacities including chairman of the Vestry. He was currently a member of the Church of the Nativity in Ft. Oglethorpe, the Gordon Pond Fishing Club in LaFayette and Council Fire Golf Club. He also attended many events at the Elizabeth Lee United Methodist Church in Chickamauga and served his country in the United State Air National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Catherine Davis Stiles; and brother, James Park “Jimmy” Stiles, Jr.
Survivors include his three children and their spouses, Robert David Stiles, Jr. (Cary) of Chickamauga, Wilson Webb Stiles, Sr. (Chrissy) of Ft. Oglethorpe, Laura Stiles Eldridge (Todd) of Chickamauga; sister, Peggy McKown of East Ridge; six grandsons; sister-in-law, Nancy Stiles of Gainesville; several nieces and nephews.

Etta Temple, 84, of Pisgah, Ala., passed away Feb. 21 at her residence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, M.L. (Millard) Temple; parents, Art and Etta Sargent; son-in-law, Curtis Barnes.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Kazira and Sharon Temple, Bernard and Louise Temple, Millard and Robbie Temple all of Pisgah, Ala.; daughters and son-in-law, Arnetta and Therold Medlock of Pisgah, Ala., Lawona Barnes of Scottsboro, Ala.; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Edna Jones West, 78, of Apison, Tenn., passed away Feb. 24. She was retired from 1st National Bank, Higdon, Ala., and member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She loved to make people laugh and loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman West; parents, Roosevelt “Ted” and Stella Barnes; brother, Jack Barnes and sister, Evelyn Fricks.

Billy Louis Wooten, 63, of Trenton, passed away Feb. 20. He was a machinist at U.S. Pipe and attended Harris Chapel Church.

Hattie Mae Wooten, 87, of New Salem, daughter of the late Marion and Blanch Cochran passed away Feb. 24. She was a lifelong resident of Lookout Mountain and was a member of Ascalon Baptist Church. Hattie’s greatest talents were her patience, kindness to Christ and quilting.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jiles Wooten; son, Marty Wooten; son-in-law, David Wimpee.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Wimpee; son, Patrick (Judy) Wooten; sisters, Sarah (Bill) Hammontee, Dorothy Goins, Ann Wallin and Lorene Barnes; six grandchildren; eight great–grandchildren and three great–great–grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
