Political Debates
Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?

Gary “Mut” Massengale resigned his District 1 School Board seat on Feb. 26, a position he has held for over 10 years.
Massengale said “It has been a privilege to serve the citizens of Dade County over the years.”
He stated a move to Tennessee as the reason for his resignation.
In his letter of resignation he praised the faculty and staff of the school system for always giving their all while getting less.
The Board will now begin the search for his replacement. They are expected to appoint someone to the unexpired term as they did a couple of years ago when David Swader resigned.
At that time the Board took applications and then interviewed the candidates before appointing David Powell to that position.
The Board is expected to follow a similar path in filling this position. More information will be available, probably at the next school board meeting.
