The Dade County
Lady Wolverine Junior Varsity softball team opened the 2013 season last week
when they hosted Sonoraville.
Core Engbers was very impressed with the JV girls in their first outing.
“Every girl in
the lineup contributed to the win. We have some potential varsity players
playing JV right now and they played to impress during this game,” Engbers
added, “I am very excited to see these girls grow and improve throughout the
rest of our JV season.”
Wolverines picked up an impressive season opening win, 9-0 over visiting
had a pair of hits, stole two bases, scored a run and batted in two runs and
Morgan Lacy also had a pair of hits, scored two runs and batted in four runs to
lead the team.
Also picking up
hits for the Lady Wolverines were Natalie Wallin, Faith Gregg, Kaitlyn Booth,
Autumn Smith, Hannah Monday and Kara Moore.
Booth picked up
the win only allowing four hits, striking out three and not allowing a run.
The JV Lady
Wolverines were set to play at Calhoun on Tuesday and then they were to travel
to Sonoraville on Wednesday.
Wolverines played this past weekend in the Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe tournament.
The tournament wasn't kind to the Lady Wolverines as they dropped four of the
five games. Their only win was against North Murray. Dade fell to Northwest
Whitfield, LaFayette, Heritage and Ringgold.
