The Wolverines Zac Freeman splits two defenders on his way for a big
gain in Friday night's action against Ft. Payne. The Wolverines open the 2013 season this Friday against North Sand Mountain at Wolverine Field. Game time has been set for 8 p.m.

The Dade County
Wolverine 2013 football season opened last Friday night when the Wolverines
hosted Ft. Payne in a scrimmage game.
the first quarter the game was stopped due to lighting. The game resumed after
a 30-minute delay.
The first half
was played by the varsity players and was dominated by defense. Both teams
managed short drives but were unable to put the ball in the end zone.
Then late in
the first half the Wolverines put together a drive that ended with quarterback
Stephen McCormick throwing to a wide open Mikey Williams for a 29 yard
touchdown. The extra point was good and the Wolverines took a 7-0 lead.

the Wolverine rushing attack with 42 yards on nine carries while. McCormick was
three of four passing for 69 yards and a touchdown.

away with a 7-0 win, scoring on a long Jake Adams run on a reverse midway
through the fourth quarter.
Adams led the
running attack with 79 yards on three carries while Zac Freeman had 54 yards on
three carries. D.Q. Cole added 22 yards on two carries.

Warren was pleased with the effort on Friday against Ft. Payne. “I thought we
played really hard, our effort was good but we need to cut down on our mistakes
each week and we will be fine,” Warren said.
