The Dade County
Lady Wolverine softball team had a busy week playing seven games in just 5
They opened the
week by traveling to Coosa in a region contest that was no contest.
When the dust
had settled the Lady Wolverines had embarrassed the host Lady Eagles 21-1 in
just 5 innings of play.
Wolverines had 23 hits including four doubles and a triple. Summer Stevens had
five hits while Madison Lacy had four hits as did Carri Pierce.
Wolverines then hosted the Calhoun Lady Yellow Jackets on Thursday and it was a
typical battle between the two top teams in Region 7-AA.

The Lady Yellow
Jackets pushed across a run in the top of the fifth but the Lady Wolverines
responded with two in the bottom of the fifth for a 3-2 lead.
In the sixth
inning a pair of singles and a hit batter loaded the bases for the Lady Yellow
Jackets with only one out. After a strikeout, a base on ball scored the tying
run and a hit batter scored the go-ahead run. Most people in attendance thought
the ball hit the bat before hitting the batter but the umpire ruled otherwise.

Wolverines were unable to score after that and dropped another heart breaker to
the Lady Yellow Jackets, 4-3.
Wolverines played in the Score Tournament at Warner Park over the weekend and
came away with 4 wins and a forfeit. The forfeit was a game against LaFayette
that the Lady's missed due to a time mix-up.
Wolverines faced North Murray in their first game and came away with a five
inning 9-0 win.

Lacy only had three hits but they included a double and home run. With all the
Lady Wolverine bats being hot the wins kept coming, this time taking extra
innings but a win just the same.
The final game
of the day was against Prince and it was another old fashioned defensive battle
as the Lady Wolverines came away with a 3-1 win to cap a good weekend.

Lady Wolverines traveled to Murray on Monday and then play Murray at home
Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. They will travel to Armuchee for a game on Thursday.
