Damien Pickering led the Wolverine defense in a big win Friday against Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe. He had 16 tackles in the contest won by the Wolverines 40-13. This week the Wolverines will be traveling to Calhoun to face the top ranked Yellow Jackets.
Wolverines Beat Warriors, 40-13

High School Wolverine football headed into Friday nights action against the
Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe Warriors on a high after picking up their first win of
the season last week against North Murray.

touchdown run, his second TD of the night, late in the third quarter and Daniel
Hall's extra point was good for a 34-7 lead.

try and the Wolverines came away with an impressive 40-13 win.
Looking at the
stats of the game the Wolverines only had six first downs to the Warriors 15
but they led in total yards 313-245.
Wolverines yardage came by the run as they were 0-6 passing with a pair of
interceptions along the way. The Wolverines also lost one fumble.
Freeman led all
rushers with 124 yards on 11 carries and scored three touchdowns. Lynn finished
the night with eight carries for 89 yards and two touchdowns and Swader had 70
yards on just five carries and one touchdown.
Pickering led the defense with an outstanding 16 tackles and one assist.
Garrett Moore had seven tackles and an interception on one quarterback sack.
Roy McMahan had
six tackles, caused a fumble, and had five quarterback hurries and one sack.
Austin Forester had six tackles and four assist; Tanner Avery six tackles and
two assist; while Teddy Cole had five tackles and two assist; Tyler Thapa also
had five tackles.

This week the
Wolverines will travel to Calhoun to face the Yellow Jackets in the first
region 7-AA game of the year for both teams.
