Are there times
you feel like no one cares? David cried, “I looked on my right hand, and
beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared
for my soul” (Psalm 142:4). I am reminded of Charlie Brown (Peanuts) as he was
pitching a ball game. The score in the first inning was 22-0. He finally got
off the pitcher’s mound, turned around and yelled, “Is anyone else out there?”
might feel like Charlie Brown. The Lord emphasizes to the child of God that He
cares and that He is always with you (II Peter 5:7). The Lord also emphasizes
the word “with” throughout Scriptures. Once you are in Christ, you are never
alone again – never! Even when you are alone, you are not alone.
He is “there”
in times of loneliness, heartaches, trials, disappointments, tragedies,
circumstances, or bad health. He is in the your valley with you (Psalm 23:4).
As He was with Noah in the ark, Moses in the wilderness, Joseph in the pit, and
Paul in prison. He will also be with you. He said to His disciples, “Lo, I am
with thee always” (Matthew 28:20).
He is “there”
in the storms of life. He may not still your storm, but He can still you in the
storm. His presence brings comfort, hope, and peace. There is no substitute for
the presence and peace of the Lord. He is always with you. He is “there” in
life, He will also be “there” in death, and He is “there” in eternity.
confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be
present with the Lord” (II Corinthians 5:8). Nothing can separate us from the
Lord – Nothing! “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels,
nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor
height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from
the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:38-39).
There is no
time after salvation that the child of God is ever alone again. Others may
leave or forsake you but He will never leave or forsake you – never (Hebrews
13:5). This verse can read, “I will never, never, never leave thee, no never
forsake thee never.” Then He promises one day that we will forever be with Him.
“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in
the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words” (I Thessalonians 4:17-18).
So whatever you
are facing this day, remember, the Lord is with you. I know because many times
He has been “there” with me. He can and will also be “there” with you. You are
not alone, because the Lord promises, “I am with thee!”
