Nic Gaddis scores for the Wolverines in recent action. The Wolverines are off to a fast start and currently are 3-0 on the season.

The Dade County Wolverine basketball team continued their fast start to the season this week as they picked up two easy wins to improve to 3-0 on the season.

On Tuesday night the Wolverines hosted the Ridgeland Panthers in a rare boys only game.

Dade took control early jumping out to a 21-10 lead after the first quarter.

The Panthers found their shooting range in the second quarter and hung with the Wolverines scoring 23 points with the host picking up 26 for a 47-33 lead at the end of the first half.

The Wolverines increased the lead in the third quarter by four to lead 71-53 heading into the final quarter.

The Wolverines turned up the heat in the fourth quarter and outscored the Panthers 32-19 and claimed an easy 103-72 win.

Clynt Bell led the Wolverines with 31 points while Nic Gaddis scored 14, Kyle Castleberry and Warren Smith 12 each and Mikey Williams rang up 10 points.

On Saturday afternoon the Wolverines traveled to Dalton to face Morris Innovative School.

This game was over early as the Wolverines jumped out to a 23-6 first quarter lead and never looked back.

By the end of the first half the Wolverines were up 58-17 and all that remained was getting through the second half as soon as possible.

When the final buzzer sounded the Wolverines had their third win of the season by a score of 82-32.

Gaddis lead all scorers with 15 points while Bell scored 13. They were the only Wolverines to score in double figures but 13 players scored in the game with 15 getting playing time.

This week Dade will hit the road for a stretch of away games. On Friday they will play at Armuchee, Saturday the team will be at North Jackson and next Tuesday they will travel to Coosa.
