The Dade County Sheriff’s Department is stepping up patrols in the Slygo area after two burglaries occurred there last week.

The first break-in was reported on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 3100 Slygo Road and then on Wednesday, Dec. 18th, a residence at 3949 Slygo Road was burglarized.

Dade County detectives are currently investigating the burglaries. Detective Jeff Parker confirmed that some of the items taken in the first break-in have been recovered.

Sheriff Ray Cross says that his department will continue their increased patrols in the area and he asks everyone to report any suspicious activity that they might see. Contact the Dade County Sheriff’s Department at (706) 657-3233.

The Sheriff says that unfortunately burglaries increase around the Christmas season each year and this year appears to be no exception but his department his working to keep our homes safe as possible.
