Political Debates
Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?

Men only have five senses, hearing, seeing, touching, smelling, and taste. It seems all wives have been given a sixth and seventh sense of ESP and GPS. ESP means Extra Sensory Perception. One woman said about her extra senses, “I think I have ESPN.” GPS means Global Positioning Satellite. It is a system that knows your exact location and then directs you to your desired destination.

Well, it seems that all wives have ESP to know exactly what husbands really want, need to know, think, eat, and wear. Just the other day, Carlene, my wife, looked at my clothes and said, “You don’t want to wear that.” A wife did this often with her husband, so when he finally got just the right outfit, he replaced it on a hanger. Next Sunday he smiled as he wore it, only to hear her say, “You are not going to wear that again, are you?”

Well, my wife has ESP. She knows; I don’t want chicken and gravy, but what I really want is a big salad; I don’t want a Hershey bar, but I really want a delicious granola bar; I don’t want to watch the Falcons or Braves, but what I really want is to watch a “Hallmarky tear jerker.”

She also has GPS because she knows; I don’t want to go golfing, so she re-calculates me to go shopping; I don’t want to go to the Outback, so she re-calculates me to go the Red Lobster; I don’t want to sit in my swing, so she re-calculates to go a wedding. She has GPS because she always knows the locations of my coffee cup, eye glasses, keys, hearing aids, remote control, shoes, and cell phone.

How does she do it? She has both ESP and GPS. One husband was looking in a closet and the wife asked, “What are you looking for?” The husband said, “Nothing.” The wife then said, “It’s in the other closet.” He said, “Thanks.” Then wondered, “How did she know that?” I have come to an eighth sense, common sense, which tells me that all wives have ESP and GPS senses that works at all times especially with their husbands.

I have also learned that the Lord has a ESP and a GPS system. The Lord knows exactly what you want, and what you really need. The Lord at all times knows where you are, and where you also should be. His ESP and GPS prevents and protects you from many dangers that are unknown to you. His GPS never needs to be re-calculated.

He will always directs you in the right ways. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6). Notice that path(s) and way(s) are plural. He will direct all your ways as a man, woman; husband, wife; father, mother; or young and old person. When He directs, it means He is up front clearing and making the way smooth for you. He also directs your many different paths at each level of your life. A path is a cleared easy way to travel. It is hard to travel where there are no paths.

As you travel you just simply need to trust Him with all your heart. Do not trust with your head, or lean unto your own understanding, but trust Him. There are ways that may seem right, but they lead to destruction and death (Proverbs 14:12). You will never regret following His directions. At the end of your paths, ways, and days you can say, “He led me all the way. I was never out of His sight. I was never alone. I am home at last.” These are words of wisdom.
