The Dade County Wolverine basketball team traveled to Summerville on Friday to face the Chattooga Indians in a region game as the season winds down and the teams are working to get into tournament form.

Dade got off to a fast start as Nic Gaddis hit a three point shot and followed it with a two point basket soon after to give them an early 5-0 lead.

The Indians rallied however and as the first quarter was winding down they had built a nine point lead, 19-10.

A big three point shot by Ryan Murphy just before the end of the quarter helped the Wolverines cut the Indian lead to 22-17.

The second quarter was fast paced with the two teams racing up and down the court and challenging the referees to keep up.

When the quarter ended Dade had managed to retake the lead, 37-36.

The Wolverines changed to a zone defense in the third quarter and the Indians never adjusted to the changes and struggled to score from outside the arc.

Dade quickly took advantage, scoring the first eight points of the second half to go up 45-36.

The Indians got within four points midway through the quarter but the Wolverines rallied again and when the third quarter ended they were up 59-47.

The Wolverines' lead grew to 20 early in the fourth quarter and they never looked back.

With just over a minute remaining the Indians got within 11 but a double technical on the Chattooga coach put the game out of reach when Clynt Bell hit all four free throws and then added two more just a few seconds later.

The Wolverines came away with a much–needed 79-65 road win.

Gaddis led the Wolverines with 26 points followed by Bell with 21. Mikey Williams grabbed 18 rebounds and Reid Hulgan had 11 rebounds.
