Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?


The Dade County High School tennis teams faced the Ridgeland Panthers and the Coosa Eagles. Both teams came away with a win and a loss.

The Lady Wolverines hosted the Ridgeland Lady Panthers and came away with a big 5-0 win.

In singles matches Madison Lacy defeated Kristen Lowe 8-0; Natalie Wallin defeated Jaya Sullivan 8-1; and Emily Clark won by forfeit.

In the doubles matches the team of Cori Clark/Brooklyn Poston defeated Brianna Hudson/Serena Jones 8-0; and Alayna Cravatt/Lauren Moore won by forfeit.

The Wolverines also defeated the Panthers 5-0 as singles matches were won by Austin Cravatt who defeated Dakota Phillips 8-0; Hunter Phillips defeated Kyle Knight 8-0; and Cole Irwin defeated Cameron Nunley 8-0.

The doubles teams of Robert Eastman/Austin Forester and Jay Rogers/Charlie Carver both won by forfeit.

The teams then traveled to Coosa for a region match up.

The Lady Wolverines fell to the Lady Eagles 4-1.

M. Lacy picked up the only win as she defeated Madison LaRue 7-5, 6-3.

The Lady Wolverines are now 3-3 overall and are 0-2 in region play so far this season.

The Wolverines also fell to the Coosa Eagles by a 3-2 score.

Cravatt defeated Jacob McLean 6-4, 6-3 and the doubles team of Stephen McCormick/Zach Freeman defeated Bryce Ray/Dylan Rogers 6-3, 6-4.

The Wolverines are now 5-1 overall and are 1-1 in region action.
