Hello my name
is Scottie Pittman and I would like to announce my candidacy for the office of
County Commissioner District 2. I have represented the citizens of Dade County
for the previous 11 years. I am a lifelong resident of Dade County and live in
the Davis Community of Sand Mountain. I attended Davis and graduated from
Northwest Georgia High School in 1988. My wife, Aimee Storie Pittman, is also a
lifelong resident of the Dade County and we have four children, Cody Vaughn,
Taylor, Megan and Kallie. I am an electrician for Norfolk Southern Railroad and
have been employed there for 11 years, prior to that I was an electrician for
Shaw Industries in Trenton where I worked for 13 years.
What I have to
offer the citizens of Dade County is experience in this position and dedication
to Dade County. During my tenure I have completed all of the training necessary
to become a Certified County Commissioner by the ACCG (Association of County
Commissioners of Georgia). I have seen our county face many adverse situations
but none that could compare to the devastation of the April 27th tornadoes of
2011. This was arguably the worst disaster both physically and financially that
Dade County has faced in our storied history. Even during this period the other
commissioners and I were fiscally responsible and kept a close eye on spending.
service to the county I have had the honor of meeting many of our citizens and
have done my best to address any concerns that have been brought to my
attention. It has been my privilege to serve our county and hope that you will
give me the opportunity to continue to serve. If you have any questions feel
free to contact me at (423) 413-6572.
I will continue to be the voice of the Davis and New Home communities. I would
greatly appreciate your support and prayers during this election and your vote
on May 20th in the Republican Primary.
