The Dade County
Board of Education was scheduled to hold its monthly work session and special
called meeting on Monday night.
Due to the Sentinel early deadlines a full
report of the meeting will be in next week’s Sentinel.
A full agenda
was on tap for the 5 p.m. meeting and those items included information from
Doug Eza on the FY15 budget.
A large number
of discussion items were on the agenda as well including fuel bids, tobacco
polices for students and employees as well.
Insurance, copier contracts and bids for Chrome books were also up for
discussion. Updates will also be given on flood insurance.
The Board will
also be discussing the installation of a traffic light at the entrance of the
high school that was first mentioned at the recent Dade County Commissioners
Cherie Swader was to give reports on the master calendar and transition days as
well as retirement receptions at each school.
testing schedule was also on the agenda as well as numerous other items that
were to be discussed for voting at next week’s regularly scheduled meeting.
