Political Debates
Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?

Participants in the 3 State 3 Mountain Challenge merge at the intersection of Slygo Road and Hale’s Gap Road Saturday morning. Racers coming off Hale’s Gap were participating in the 100–mile portion of the race while others took shorter routes. Perfect weather contributed to a safe and successful challenge.

The Chattanooga Bicycle Clubs “3 State 3 Mountain Challenge” made a successful return to Dade County and the surrounding area this past weekend and this year’s weather was perfect.

Several times during the 27-year history of the race bad weather had made racing difficult and was a factor in several accidents.

This year’s race had riders entering the county from Alabama then traveling down Hale’s Gap, across the valley and up Burkhalter Gap before heading into Walker County via Mt. Olive Road.

Riders who completed the full course covered 100 miles.

Dade County Sheriff Ray Cross worked closely with the Chattanooga Bicycle Club in planning this year’s event with safety a main concern. With past races weather was a main concern but this year it was perfect.
