Political Debates
Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?

The Cloudland Canyon State Park Connector Trail will officially open on Friday. The grand open ceremony will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. near the disc golf course.

The last section of the Cloudland Connector Trail on Lookout Mountain has been completed and will officially open on June 27.

Lula Lake Land Trust along with Cloudland Canyon State Park announced the grand opening of the Connector opening up to over sixty miles of hiking, biking and equestrian trails from Cloudland Canyon to Ascalon, 5 Points, Longbranch and Nick-A-Jack trails.

The last bridge was recently completed over Bear Creek marking the end of the over five year project.

The Cloudland Connector Trail became a reality as the 14-mile core trail and dozens of miles of spin-off trails were built with many volunteers and partners.

Today, the Connector Trail receives national acclaim, as hikers and mountain bikers from across the country rank is as among the best trail systems around.

The grand opening ceremonies will be conducted at Cloudland Canyon State Park on the east side of the park near the disc golf course on Friday, June 27 at 11:00 a.m.

The $5 park entry fee will be waived for the festivities and many local dignitaries will be on hand to welcome the guest and visitors.

Everyone is invited to attend and refreshments will be provided to all attendees.
