Political Debates
Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?

Early voting is underway for the July 22 run-off elections. Early voting will take place at the Dade County Election office in the Administrative Building during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

There will not be any voting for the run-off on Saturday and early voting ends July 18th.

Three local races have run-offs.

Dade County Commission District 1 has incumbent Mitchell Smith facing former Commissioner Lamar Lowery.

The Dade County Board of Education District 2 has two political newcomers. Jennifer Hartline faces off against Summer Kelley. Only three votes separated the two in the primary and the three candidates for the seat were separated by just six votes.

The State House of Representatives District 1 seat has a pair of Dade County residents vying for that spot. Incumbent John Deffenbaugh faces former Dade County Commissioner Robert Goff.

With only three local races on the ballot turnout is expected to be light but everyone is encouraged to get out and vote for these important local races.
