Political Debates
Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?

Early voting continues for the July 22 run-off elections. Any registered Dade County voter can vote at the Dade County Elections office in the Administrative Building during regular business hours Monday through Friday.

There will not be any voting for the run-off on Saturday and Early Voting ends July 18.

As of Monday morning 142 Republicans had cast their votes along with 13 Democrats.

The three local races with run-offs are Dade County Commission District 1 with incumbent Mitchell Smith facing former Commissioner Lamar Lowery. Dade County Board of Education’s District 2 has two political newcomers. Jennifer Hartline who is facing off against Summer Kelley. Only three votes separated the Hartline and Kelley in the primary. The State House of Representatives District 1 seat has a pair of Dade County residents vying for that spot. Incumbent John Deffenbaugh faces former Dade County Commissioner Robert Goff.

With only three local races on the ballot turnout is expected to be light but everyone is encouraged to get out and vote for these important local races.
