Do you plan to attend any of the political debates planned throughout the county in the coming weeks?

CPR Class Offered

Jerry Henegar is doing an adult, child infant CPR/AED training class on Saturday, Aug. 30th at 9:30 a.m. The class is two hours long and participants will receive certification and a card within two weeks.

The class will be in the gym of New Home Baptist Church on Sand Mountain.

The certification is good for two years and great for people renewing or wanting to learn with little ones running around! The cost is $35 per person. It is very important that you RSVP.

Yard Sale For Missions

The New Salem United Methodist Women is hosting a yard sale Aug. 7, 8 and 9 in the church’s fellowship hall.

The church is located at 12550 Highway 136, across from the New Salem Community Center.

All proceeds will benefit missions.

Football Scrimmage

The Dade County High School Wolverine football team has its first pre-season scrimmage this Friday night at Lafayette with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m.

A rules change this year allows teams who did not have spring practice to play two scrimmage games.

The Wolverines will face Ft. Payne in their second scrimmage on Aug. 22 before opening the 2014 season at home on Aug. 29 against North Sand Mountain.
