PARADE OCT. 16
The Dade County High School Homecoming Parade will be Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. The parade will begin at the Bank of Dade and end at Moore Funeral Home. Parade line up will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Georgia Ave. This year’s homecoming theme is “Be True To Your School”, paying homage to the classic Beach Boys’ song. There will also be a bonfire immediately following the parade in the football practice field parking lot at DCHS. CHIEF 5K RUN/WALK
The first annual Big Chief 5K Run/Walk will be Oct. 25 at 8 a.m. EST at the Stevenson City Park. The cost is $25 per runner or $40 for two in a family. CLOUDLAND CANYON

Barnard Astronomical Society will participate in the Cloudland Canyon Arts and Crafts Celebration Nov. 1st and 2nd at Cloudland Canyon State Park. BAS will have an information booth at the vendor area and will set up telescopes for solar observation in the afternoon near the Interpretive Center. As the sky begins to darken, they will move to the tennis courts. Programs are free and open to everyone. The usual park parking fee of $5 per car applies.
