Heating Assistance

The State of Georgia, Department of Human Services, with whom North Georgia Community Action contracts through, has announced additional funding for the Energy Assistance Program will be available.

The funding is limited and will be available based on a “first come, first serve” basis.

Clothing Bank Needs Help

The Dade County Clothing Bank has received an abundance of donated clothing and needs a little extra help in getting the clothing ready for its next owner.

Anyone who can volunteer some of their time are asked to call Joe D’Agostineo at (706) 398-2729 or email him at gansy@tvn.net.

Volunteers are needed on Thursdays during the normal operating hours of 9 a.m. until noon and from 4-7 p.m. Anyone who can spare one, two or even three hours are asked to come lend a hand.

The Clothing Bank is in the basement of New Salem United Methodist Church, which is located on Highway 136 East, Lookout Mountain.

Basketball Contest

The Trenton/Dade Optimist Tri-Star Basketball contest will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Dade Elementary School's gymnasium.

The contest is open to boys and girls ages 8–13.

Come test your skills at passing, dribbling and shooting.
