Qualifying Deadline
Qualifying for political office will be May 23-25 at the Administrative Building in Trenton. Qualifying hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday and 9 a.m. until noon on Friday.
This is the only time you can file a Declaration of Candidacy to have your name placed on the General Primary/Non-Partisan Ballot.
City Official Enters Plea
Trenton City Commissioner Charles (Chuck) Cannon entered guilty pleas last week in Superior Court to lesser charges resulting from an earlier indictment against him.
Cannon was indicted for one count making a false statement (felony) and one count of simple battery (misdemeanor).
Cannon pled guilty to obstruction of an officer (misdemeanor) and the simple battery charge.
He was sentenced to 12 month probation and ordered to pay fines and court cost of $1,500 and have no contact with the victim in the case.
Farmers Mkt. Opens May 5
Trenton Farmers’ Market kicks off this year's growing season Saturday when local farmers, artists and craftsmen will gather on the Courthouse Square to sell their products.
The market is seeking local vendors to sell from 9 a.m. until noon each Saturday
All you need to sell is a surplus of fresh vegetables or other food products from your own farm or garden.
Local artists and crafters are also welcome but you must create your own arts or crafts from natural materials.
