Dade County High School senior David Page signed scholarship papers last week to play football for the Jacksonville State University Gamecocks.
Page, who was recruited to play receiver/running back for the Southern Conference School, had an impressive career as a Wolverine.
He had 27 catches for 596 yards as a receiver and had 224 carries for 1,659 yards as a running back for the Wolverines and scored 31 career touchdowns.
Page is the 15th Wolverine to receive a scholarship offer in the last four seasons.
Wolverine coach Bradley Warren said, “I am excited to see this program begin to grow and succeed. I am especially proud of David and the other Wolverines, past and present, in our program.”
Over the past four year the Wolverine football program has gone from a doormat to a region contender and has become commonplace for recruiters to visit each spring.
“We have had Mike Bobo, Georgia’s offensive coordinator on campus, as well as coaches from Clemson, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, UT Chattanooga, Georgia Southern, Elon, Western Kentucky, Samford, Wofford, West Georgia, LaGrange, Shorter, Tennessee Tech, Tennessee State, Jacksonville State and the University of Tennessee, just to name a few,” Warren said.
“Our kids are working hard and getting some much needed exposure to a football program that has just recently experienced some much needed success.
We have some good, solid, and hardworking young men in our program that come from good families and do well in the classroom. I am excited to see this program begin to grow and succeed,” Warren added.
Dade has won 21 football games over the last four season and finished 14th in the state in 2010.
