A full weekend of events is planned for this weekend as the State of Dade Heritage Festival) swings into action Friday afternoon.
The annual event moves back to the Courthouse Square this year with a full schedule of entertainment on tap.
This year’s events include the Dade Heritage Scholarship Pageant, Children’s Area and inflatable’s, Battle of the Bands Contest, concerts all day Saturday, Farmers’ Market, arts and crafts, Sunday Faith Day, Sunday Worship Service, vendor booths, Dual Sport Motorcycle Exhibition, and a multi-tribe Indian Pow Wow.
Also featured for the first time this year will be a 5 Mile Cloudland Canyon Walk and a “Did You Know?” History Booth and Scavenger Hunt. Transportation will be provided back to Cloudland Canyon for those who participate in the 5 mile walk that originates at the park.
Students from Dade County High School will recreate the historic Secession Debate in the Dade County Commission Room at 7 p.m. on Friday.
