City Trash Pick Up

 

Due to the Fourth of July holiday trash pickup within the City of Trenton will be on Friday, July 6, instead of Wednesday of that week.

 

GDOT Litter Pick Up

 

Georgia DOT Maintenance crews are tentatively scheduled to pick up debris and litter on state routes 157 and 189 in Dade County today through Friday. Work will proceed daily between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.

Each day, hundreds of Georgia Department of Transportation employees and contractors work on dozens of highway, bridge and intersection improvements throughout the state.  Please help us prevent these tragedies by slowing down; being especially attentive and cautious as you pass through construction work zones; and always driving responsibly.

 

Free Concert Is Saturday

 

A free concert will be at South Dade Community Center Saturday featuring His Majesty Youth Ensemble and the Wildwood Children’s Choir. The concert begins at 4:30 p.m.

The youth ensemble includes six youth who are members of the Chattanooga Youth Symphony Orchestra. All participating performers in the concert are under the age of 16.

The community center if located on School Street in Rising Fawn.

 

Historical Society Meets

 

Dade County Historical Society meets Sunday  3 p.m. in the Dade County Commission meeting room.

Noted tri-state anthropologist, E. Raymond Evans will present a program on his research of W. Isham Cole Plantation in Slygo.

All persons interested in Dade County History are encouraged to attend.
