ANDREW CHUBB

Andrew Jackson Chubb, 78, of Wildwood, passed away Nov. 5, 2012, at his residence. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was formerly employed by U.S. Pipe & Foundry. He was a member of Mount Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and the musician.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew J. Chubb Sr.; mother, Flossie Chubb Roberts; brothers, Jonas, Clarence, James and Jehu Chubb; sisters, Janie Mason and Mary Kate Lollis.

Survivors include his wife, Dorris Chubb; sons, Cedric (Vanessa) Chubb, Stonney (Trinia) Chubb and Randall (Lori) Chubb; daughter, Jennifer (John) Ryals, all of Chattanooga; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Ricky Chubb, of Chicago, Ill., and Quillin Chubb, of Las Vegas, Nev.; devoted sisters-in-law, Imogene Chubb, Betty Pollock and Carol Sutton; devoted family members and friends, Joey Chubb, Virginia Owens, Erica Owens, Thomas Jacoway, Jerri Kinamore, Veronica Chubb and Deborah Hart; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were Nov. 9 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Wildwood with Pastor Larry Owens officiating. Interment was in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

BETTY GILBERT

Betty Holcomb Gilbert, 69, of Trenton, passed away Nov. 6 at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Frank Holcomb; infant children, Thomas David, John Martin, Martha Fay and Martha Jean Gilbert; sister, Geraldine Frazier; and brother, Arland Holcomb.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, John Gilbert, Jr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Patsy and Charles Cloud, Donna and William Hester; son, Eddie Gilbert; grandchildren, Amy Parker, Wendy Pritchett, J.J. Gilbert, Joshua Gilbert, Kimberly Gilbert, Labron Hester, Megan Hester, Tiffany Hester and Tyler Gilbert; six great-grandchildren; mother, Pauline Holcomb; sister, Gertrude York; brothers and sister-in-law, Bud and Ethel Holcomb, Randy, Ricky, Joe and Larry Holcomb.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. CST today at Corner Stone Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jason Pritchett and Bro. Jason Blake officiating.

Interment will follow in New Canaan Cemetery.

KENNETH HICKS

Kenneth David Hicks, 54, of Trenton, passed away Nov. 6, 2012. He was formerly employed with Hutcheson Medical Center in the maintenance department, Ft. Oglethorpe.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Betty Hicks and sister, Elizabeth Frazier.

Survivors include his daughter, Melina (Larry) Hill, Higdon, Ala.; sons, Eugene (Stacey) Hicks, Dalton and Billy (Sheila) McCurry, Wildwood; sisters, Rhonda (Gordon) Jura, Angela (David) Dickerson and Kathy Osborne; brothers, Julian (Brenda) Hicks, and Paul Hicks; nine grandchildren.

Funeral services were Nov. 9 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. O.A. Bethune officiating. Burial was in Shantytown Cemetery.

RAY RYAN

Ray Hugh Ryan, 76, of Ider, Ala., passed away Nov. 10, 2012 in a Birmingham, Ala., hospital. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. He was retired from Combustion Engineering Company.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Jo Gray Ryan; son, Guy Ryan; parents, Edgar and Gladys Payton Ryan and brother, James Robert Ryan.

Survivors include daughters, Gail (Lamon) Sparks of Maryville, Tenn., and Gerry (Donald) West of Ider; brother, Willard (Sue) Ryan of Rising Fawn; sister, Linda Ryan of Trenton; grandchildren, Nathan (Jennifer) Huff, Laura (Daniel) O’Dell, Kevin (Bree) Schlageter, and Jared (Joanna) Schlageter; eight great-grandchildren, Libby, Allie, Maddie, Jenna, Carley, Eli, Danica and Mason.

MOLLIE SHRADER

Mollie Williams Shrader, 77, of Trenton, passed away Nov. 6, 2012. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was a member of Trenton Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Anna Williams; brothers, Bluford, Tommy, Paul, Loyal and Ollie Williams; sisters, Effie Rogers, Leona Whited, Gladys Wilbanks and Jewell Hinson; grandchild, Tara Shrader; two great-grandchildren,  Samara Powell and Austin Shrader.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Luther Shrader; sons, Terry Joe Shrader and wife Deborah and Donny Lee Shrader; seven grandchildren, Allen Shrader, Sherry Lacey, Nathaniel Shrader, Alisha Shrader, Aaron Shrader, April Powell and Marty McCormick; eight great-grandchildren, Ashton Shrader, Alec Shrader, Rachel Shrader, Peyton Lacey, Austin Lacey, Danielle Powell, Alex Powell and Austin Powell; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends.

Funeral services were Nov. 9 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Randy Tinker and Rev. Quillen Thurman officiating. Interment was in Lake Hills Memorial Gardens.

MARY WILLIAMSON

Mary Worthy Williamson, 91, of Whitmire, S.C., and widow of Bill Williamson, died Nov. 6, 2012 at her home. She was born in Newberry County and was a daughter of the late Monroe and Ada Baker Worthy. Mrs. Williamson was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church.

Survivors include daughters, Amanda Brown of Blythwood, S.C., Iva Nell Williamson of Augusta, Terry Henson of Higdon, Ala., and Wilma (Richard) Byrd of Newberry, S.C.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and too many special friends to list.

Funeral services were Nov. 10 at Bethesda Baptist Church with burial in the Beth Eden Lutheran Church Cemetery.
