WAYNE FLOYD

John Wayne Floyd, 58, of Rossville, passed away Aug. 1. He had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of his life and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Bessie Floyd; former wife, Linda Jean Floyd; sisters, Rosetta Clark and Shirley Black; brothers, Robert, Gene, Bill, Winston and Leon Floyd.

Survivors include his wife, Elda “Shorty” Floyd of Rossville; sisters, Evelyn Brown of Lookout Mtn., Frances Brown of Ariz.; brother, Jerry Floyd of Lookout Mtn.; numberous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were held Aug. 5 in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Rev. Claude Wooten officiating.

Arrangements by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.

 

PEGGY HARP

Peggy Ann Harp, 54, of Prattville, Ala., passed away Aug. 29 at her residence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Mavis B. Haney; sister, Jean Padgett; brother, Vincent Haney.

Survivors include her husband, Donnie Harp of Prattville, Ala.; daughters, Calethea Martin of Henagar, Ala., DeShanna Carson Thomas of Scottsboro, Ala.; sisters, Sybil Maynor of Prattville, Ala., Rachel Haney of Gulf Shores, Ala.; brother, Kenneth Haney of Prattville, Ala.

COLBY MILLICAN

Colby Wayne Millican, 7, of Henagar, Ala., passed away Aug. 29 in Fort Payne, Ala. He was in second grade at Pisgah Elementary School

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Richard W. Millican; great-grandparents, Wayne and Ruth Millican, Robert Henry, Lionel Medlock, Jesse and Willie Kate Chisenall.

Survivors include his parents, Billy and Roxanne Millican; sister, Tori Millican; grandparents, Gregg and Vivian Medlock, all of Henagar, Ala., Jim and Sissy Brown of Flat Rock, Ala., Roy and Rhonda Chisenall of Scottsboro, Ala.; great-grandparents, J.W. and Sue Shirley of Ider, Ala., Emogene Henry of Henagar, Ala., Ruby Medlock, of Pisgah, Ala.; aunts and uncles, Paula Bright, Angela and Scott Turner, Tony Medlock and Keith and Janetta Chisenall; several cousins.

Funeral services were held Sept. 1 in the Kerby Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Hall officiating.

Interment was in Green Haven Memorial Gardens.

MINNIE RIDLEY

Minnie Ridley, 81, of Trenton, passed away Aug. 31 at her home. She was a lifelong resident of Trenton and was a Baptist.

She was precede din death by her husband Deweldo Ridley; parents, Will and Verda Raines; brother James Raines; sisters, Pearl Jeffery and Lillian Shelton.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Martin and Sandra Ridley; granddaughter and husband, Kristen and Jeremy Smith; great-granddaughter, Autumn Smith; sisters, Ruth Gentry, Lucille Young and Bonnie Jeffery.

Funeral services were held Sept. 2 in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Norman officiating.

Interment was in Chattanooga National Cemetery.

LYNNE STEFFEN

Lynne C. Steffen, 66, of Oak Creek, Wis., passed away Aug. 15.

She was preceded in death by her father Jacob Wierth; brother, Dennis Wierth.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Steffen; children and spouses, Patrick and Deb Steffen, Andrea Phillips, Susan and John Schaff, Joel Steffen, Sydney Steffen; mother, Dorothy Wierth of Trenton; grandchildren, David, Megan, Jordan, Nicolette, Kaylyn, McKenna, Alexis; great-grandchild, Braeden; sister and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Fred Pittman of Trenton; brother, Mark and Diane Wierth.

Funeral services were held Aug. 18 in the chapel of Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services.

Interment was in Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

DAVID WATERS, SR.

David Hayes Waters, Sr., 61, of Hixson, Tenn., passed away Aug. 25 at his home.

He was preceded in death by his parents James R. Waters and Theta M. Winningham Waters; brothers, James H. Waters and Lloyd H. Waters.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David and Lori Waters of Ringgold, Mark and Mary Ann Waters of Trenton, Randy Waters of Rising Fawn; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Joe Stevens of Trenton; grandchildren, Jessie Waters, Wayne Stevens, James Waters, Aaron Stevens, Bret Waters, Brandon Stevens, Savannah Waters; brothers, Harold Waters, Howard Waters, Harland Waters and Harsley Waters; sisters, Shelby Waters, Bonnie White, Joyce Bridges and Patricia Woodburn; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Aug. 29 at Brainerd Hills Church of God with Rev. Jim Torbett officiating.

Interment was in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
