Final Debate Is Tuesday
The last of the series of political debates sponsored by American Legion Post 106 for candidates aspiring to local elected office will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the post hall on Highway 11 North.
This final debate will provide a forum for candidates for state and regional offices such as those in the Georgia legislature and the judicial system. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.
Deputies Make Arrest
Deputies with the Dade County Sheriff’s Department, arrested 36 year–old Elisha Ryan June 8 and charged her with possession of a schedule I, II, and III controlled substance. She was also charged with possession of marijuana and prescriptions must be kept in their original container.
The arrest was the result of a traffic stop for a headlight violation. Deputies found several prescription drugs varying in size and color in a container, a clear baggie containing a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and methamphetamine in Ryan's vehicle.
Ryan was arrested and transported to the Dade County jail.
Drama Team Performing
The Academy of Arts will be performing “Good and Faithful” at 11 a.m. Sunday at Piney Grove Baptist Church.
The drama is a series of stories showing people from all walks of life that have been faithful to the Lord through their service in the local church and the mission field.
The Academy Of Arts, a professional Christian drama team from Taylors, S. C., employs professional stage lights, music, sound effects, costumes, props and multi-image techniques to present biblical, historical, patriotic and moral themes on stage.
