Library Meeting
The Friends of the Dade County Library will have a special meeting tomorrow at 7 p.m. at the newly renovated library on Court Street.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss library funding issues and to come up with some strategies to keep the library open.
All library supporters are invited to attend. Bring your own chair.
B of E Public Hearings
Public hearings on the Dade County Board of Education’s proposed budget will be held the next two Mondays at the board’s building on Highway 136 East, just in front of Dade High School.
The July 16, hearings will be at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. On July 23, a hearing will begin at 6 p.m.
The budget as proposed by Superintendent Shawn Tobin discontinues all board funding for the Dade County Library, which library management says might cause the already cash-strapped facility to close its doors altogether.
Blood Drive Is Today
The Dade County Sheriff’s Office will sponsor the Blood Assurance Blood Mobile today from 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. on the Courthouse Square.
Testing At High School
The Georgia High School Graduation Test will be administered July 19-20 at Dade County High School.
The Georgia High School Writing Test will also be administered July 18 at 8 a.m.
If you are not a current student at DCHS you must register with the System Testing Coordinator to take the tests.
