Dedication Ceremony
Tree City is
having a tree planting and dedication ceremony Nov. 28th at noon at the Dade
County Agriculture Extension Building in honor of former Dade County Extension
Director Ted Dyer.
Dyer passed
away a few months ago after a battle with cancer.
Dyer served as Dade's
extension director for many years and was a mentor to many 4–H Club members. He
also served on the board of Tree City.
The Dade County
Agriculture Extension Building is located at 114 Pace Drive, in front of Dade
Middle School
Apply To College Day
Dade County
High School will host its annual "Apply to College Day" for all
seniors Nov. 27 in the DCHS library from 8–6 p.m.
Seniors will be
able to submit enrollment applications with colleges of their choice. The goal
of the event is to get all seniors to submit at least one application to a
college.

Free Vegetarian Cooking Class
The Wildwood
Country Store will host a free vegetarian cooking class Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. The
class will last a little over an hour, and participants will receive the
vegetarian cookbook Seven Secrets, which retails for $24.95, free of charge.
The Wildwood
Country Store is a natural foods store associated with the Seventh-day Adventist
center at Wildwood, which also includes an herb store and natural treatment
hospital.
The complex is
located at the Wildwood exit of I-59 between Highway 11 and the interstate.
Although there is no admission for the class, registration is limited, so those
interested in attending should call (706/820-1252) or go by the store to
reserve a place.
